Join Us
Joining is easy! Just follow these steps:
- Make sure you belong to one of these groups:
- An active or retired employee of a fire department in Ontario
- A civic employee of the former borough of East York
- An extended family member of either of the above
- Make sure you have two pieces of ID available. One of them must be a government-issued photo ID.
- Set up an appointment with us, either at one of our branches or at a mutually convenient time and location, to fill out your membership application.
Before we meet, you may want to consider whether you'd like to set up direct deposit and payroll deduction, as well as which accounts and assets you plan to transfer.
Got everything?
A Credit Union is owned and controlled by its members, and as such, each new member must purchase a $100 share in the Credit Union. This is not an application fee, rather, the $100 must remain on deposit as long as the membership account is open. The share entitles the member (if older than 16) to vote on any resolutions brought before the membership (typically at the AGM), including election of the Board of Directors.
