Member Service Officers today.
Question: Why do I have
to pay for the $100.00 membership share when I join the Credit
Union?
Answer:
As a member in the Credit Union, you are part owner. When you
pay the one time membership share purchase price of $100.00, you
are allowed to vote at our Credit Union annual meeting, and let
your voice be heard. Should you ever decide not to be a member,
the $100.00 share may be refunded.
Question: What is the difference
between a bank and a Credit Union?
Answer:
A Credit Union does offer the same services that
the banks offer, but service charges are minimal, and our members
have ownership in the Credit Union. Profits are returned back
to the members in the form of lower fees, preferential interest
rates and support of firefighters’ events. Many of our services
are FREE.
Question: I understand
the Credit Union does not have ATMs. How do I access my accounts?
Answer:
The Credit Union offers online banking, where you can view your
accounts and complete transactions 24 hours a day, and you can
visit your branch, but convenient account access is available
through your Member Card.
The Credit Union is part of The Exchange ATM Network. ATM transactions
are FREE OF CHARGE at any ATMs displaying The EXCHANGE logo in
Canada and the USA. To find the location of a FREE EXCHANGE ATM,
click here. You can access your accounts for other transactions
(no deposits) at ATMs not displaying The EXCHANGE logo for a minimal
charge. Our daily limit on ATM withdrawals is $500, but some machines
have their own limits, which may be lower. In addition, our daily
limit on Point of Sale (POS) debit card purchases in Canada or
the USA is $1,000.
Answer:
Yes, bill payments in the branch are FREE OF CHARGE. You can also
use Online and Telephone banking to pay your bills free of charge
from the convenience of your own home, at work, at the cottage
or while travelling. If you do not have access to either service
call us and we will make the payment for you.
Question: I’m considering the purchase of a new vehicle,
but I don’t know whether the monthly loan payments will
be higher than I can afford.
Answer:

section to help you calculate various payment options. Don’t
forget that you can amortize your vehicle purchase over terms
of up to 7 years. If you prefer, call the Credit Union. We can
assist you with payment options as well as advise you of the Red
Book value of the vehicle you are considering.
Question: I have a hectic schedule and I’m worried that
I may forget to make my loan payment on time.

many transactions. Just call the Credit Union. We’ll be
